Global Issues Seminar Series

From the 30th January to the 20th of March 2013 many volunteers from Tools for Solidarity are attending the Global Issues Seminar Series organized by the Centre for Global Education, Belfast. The seminars consist of an interactive course that is aimed to increase awareness and understanding of development issues and to engage participants with the challenges of development and their role as agents of change.

Among these series there was one seminar about the Millennium Development Goals (MDG), where important questions were discussed such as if the MDG are realistic or too ambitious, or if there is enough understanding about the MDG within society. At the end, an interesting suggestion persisted about the valuable contribution of a bottom-up process focused on the population and in this context the importance of an educative process.

The last of these seminars, facilitated by Friends of the Earth, will take place at Queens University Belfast on the 20th of March 2013, Wednesday 6.00pm. We are convinced it will be as interesting as the previous ones.
