Today marks 1,000 days before the end date of the Millenium Developement Goals (MDG). These Goals set out for the first time global targets on a range of development indices from promoting gender equality to eradicating extreme poverty and hunger — www.un.org/millenniumgoals/
Although not perfect either in how they came about or in their focus or aspiration, the MDG represent an important milestone in Humanity’s development.
We now need to look beyond 2015, beyond the targets set out in the MDGs. Tools For Solidarity (TFS) is joining a global movement that is working towards this and the work has already begun. TFS would like you to join us in formulating what new goals are appropriate, sustainable and equitable for the decades ahead — this has to be Our process and only by engaging in it fully can the outcomes reflect the world we all want to live in.
